Joyce Watt

Joyce was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Alexander and Sarah Alma Jones.

Joyce excepted Christ at an early age and attended Lane Metropolitan C.M.E as a child. Later in life she attended Good Shepherd Baptist Church. Joyce received early education in the Cleveland Public School System.  She assisted her mother with catering jobs.  Joyce married A. B. Watt (Frank) April 27, 1953. To this union two children were born, a son who died at child birth and Diane Watt.

Joyce worked at the Mejestic Hotel and later with the assistance of her cousin Connie Newsome she was able to obtain a Nursing Certificate and worked at Abby Nursing Home until a back injury forced her to come out on disability.

Joyce loved her family and just being in the presence of people where she was the life of the party and was never a stranger to anyone. Listening to music and dancing to the sound was what she liked. She was very proud that she could always demonstrate how she could stretch out her legs and touch her toes at the age of 80. 

Joyce passed away from Labor to Reward at the Embassy of Euclid on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024.  She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren Lieisha and Samell, her parents, five brothers and two sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Diane Watt. Four grand children Tariq Watt (Etana), Lachele Watt (Frank), Trekisha Watt (Ameer A.K.A Meeme). Great-grandchildren Jayla, Shirlea, Jelani, Nahja, Frankquez, La’Kwon, Toshiona, Tameera, T’Ericka and six great-great-grandchildren. One brother Thomas D. Jones and one sister-in-law Valerie Jones.  A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
