The services of the funeral director and staff include but is not limited to consultation with family and clergy, arrangements and direction desired, preparation and filing of necessary notices, i.e. death certificates, social security, veterans, authorization and consents, other services (receiving and arranging flowers), and coordinating with those providing other portions of the funeral, e.g. cemetery, crematory, and others. 

When planning a service, you have many options available to you and we will do all that we can to provide a beautiful and respectful ceremony. No matter your choice, we can offer you a space to join with family and friends in grief, comfort, and love. And above all, we will do our utmost to honor your loved one. We will be happy to go over all your options and answer any questions that you may have.  

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our families. You may choose only the items you desire.

A funeral service is a special time for family and friends to comfort one another, begin to find healing, and celebrate a life well-lived. Whether you choose burial or cremation, you can hold a funeral service to honor your loved one. We are happy to provide a traditional funeral or something completely unique. Many cultures and religions have special funeral traditions and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. This is a moment for you and your family and we are honored to help you in any way that we can.

Funeral Services may include:

• Ceremonial use of preparation room for religious service
• Use of facilities for viewing, funeral service on-premises, or set-up of other facility room
• Use of facilities for wake or family visitations

Except in certain cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want to embalm, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

If the final disposition of a dead body has not occurred within 48 hours of the death, Ohio law requires that the body be embalmed or refrigerated at 40 degrees or less.

Just like a funeral service, a memorial service is a time to remember your loved one. This can be held shortly after death or weeks later, with or without an urn present. What’s important is that it creates a time and a place for family and friends to gather together and support one another, share memories and pay their respects. We can hold a memorial service at our funeral home, the final resting place, or at your home. 

Memorial Services may include:

A casket burial is a traditional service and there are many options you can choose from. We can provide an immediate burial without a public service; a visitation, viewing, or wake with a closed or open casket; a funeral service at our funeral home, church, or private home, and a graveside service at a cemetery. You can choose whether you’d like a public or private service or a combination. It is entirely up to you how you wish to pay your respects. 

Our service for immediate burial may have a viewing, attendant rites, or ceremonies including removal and shelter of the deceased, local transportation to cemetery, necessary services of staff and authorizations, and a cloth-covered pressed wood flat casket. The casket may be provided by the purchaser or selected from the funeral home.

Our family-owned funeral home and crematory is proud to offer an onsite crematory.

An onsite crematory assures our families that their loved ones will always be in our care and we have total control from beginning to the end. We exercise thoughtful and in-depth precautions and proceed through several layers of authorizations to make certain your loved one is respected. Our certified and professional staff will stay in contact with your family throughout the process. Once the cremation process is completed and your loved one's urn has been prepared, we can deliver the urn to the home or cemetery. You can trust our staff. We are proud to be the only minority family-owned funeral home with an onsite crematory in greater Cleveland.

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you must use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are composition materials. Our service for a direct cremation without any viewing, attendant rites, or ceremonies includes removal of and transportation of remains to the crematory, if local, basic services of staff and authorizations, permit fees, and your loved one placed in a cardboard container

The next of kin or designated representative must come to the funeral home to identify the deceased person before the cremation process.

Cremation Services may include:

• Containers for cremations can be provided by the family or selected from the funeral home.
• Witnessing of cremation process (maximum of five people)
• Refrigeration

This service includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, the pickup, embalming, and transportation to the airport of the remains which have been placed in a combination unit. This does not include dressing, use of facilities for viewing, rites, or ceremonies before forwarding of the body.

This service includes temporary shelter of remains, transfer from the airport, and basic services of funeral director and staff. Other services might be necessary depending on your desires.

It is generally understood that funeral services for a deceased person will be held within 7 – 8 days after the death. Unless very unusual circumstances become evident, a holding service will apply for any loved one left in our care after the normal period listed above.

We can create a customized, online memorial for you to share with family and friends. The memorial includes the obituary and any photographs you wish to provide. It will serve as a place for visitors to post condolences, share memories, upload photos, and light candles in honor of your loved one.

We can produce a personal tribute video that can be played at the service and online. Simply provide us with the photographs you want to include and we will transform them into a video celebration of your treasured memories. DVDs or digital files of the video are also available.

We realize the expense of a funeral can be a burden. We provide the option for friends and family to make monetary donations to help cover funeral costs. These gifts can be made easily and securely online through our website, and are paid directly to the funeral home on behalf of the donor.

We make it easy for friends and family to send flowers to your home or service to honor your loved one. We have partnered with local florists to offer the convenience of ordering directly from the obituary page of our website. You can also use this feature to select the flowers you would like at the service. This is a secure way to choose beautiful arrangements from the privacy and comfort of your home.

We reduce the stress of contacting those who need the details of the service for your loved one. We post the dates and times of the service as part of the online memorial on our website. You can then either share the memorial on your Facebook or Twitter page or copy the details from the site into an email or text. Both options give you the peace of mind that you have provided the necessary information to those who need it.

We offer one year of free daily grief support emails to the families we serve. It is important to us that we continue to comfort our families through the difficult days that the first year of grieving can bring.
